What’s the best strategic solution to the COVID-19 economic crisis?

On Dec. 10, 1914, a massive explosion erupted in West Orange, New Jersey.

Immediately six fire departments rushed to the scene to try to control the inferno. People gathered around the building to see how the fire consumed the famous lab from Mr. Thomas Alva Edison.

The fire was too powerful to be controlled. History says that Mr. Edison stood outside to contemplate the fire.

Later, in 1961, Edison’s son Charles wrote in a Readers Digest article that his father calmly walked over to him as he watched the fire destroy his life’s work and said, “Go get your mother and all her friends. They’ll never see a fire like this again.”

“What?” Charles reacted in astonishment, “Are you kidding dad?” thinking this was a joke.

“It’s all right,” the famous inventor said, “We’ve just got rid of a lot of rubbish. Although I am over 67 years old, I’ll start all over again tomorrow.”

And so he did.

The very next morning, Edison began rebuilding with the help of his employees. The relentless man and his team worked double shifts getting back up on their feet and producing more than ever before.

The following year they made almost $10 million in revenue.

To answer your question, what’s the best strategic solution to the COVID-19 economic crisis?

An economic crisis is like a fire. It happens when we least expect it and will bring devastating losses to our lives work.

Life is not perfect. It will never be. When tragedy strikes we must accept the situation, and just as Mr. Eddison did, get up and start rebuilding again.

Mr. Edison’s reaction to this crisis shows why he was so successful.

The COVID-19 economic crisis is another opportunity for us to grow and become stronger. The WORST thing we can do is to get stuck whining, blaming others or expecting others to solve our problems.

Get up and start building again!
