This KID.

This kid was born in 1962 in Canada. His father was jobless the entire time he was with the kid. The kid had learning disability i.e.dyslexia. He faced tough time in the school. Due to non payment of the fee, kid had to leave several schools. At a age of 14 his father died, with no source of income for the family.

Due to his learning disabilities he was bullied everywhere. A god gift, which he was he kept doing what is liked “making funny/annoying faces“. He didn’t have any friends at school and feared that anyone getting close might find discover his embarrassing poverty. With little learning and no relationships, he felt school as he felt it was getting him nowhere. He called it quits at 16.

The kid slept on footpath for 5 years.

Knowing this well that he is the only one who can earn for his family he moved to LA. He would sleep on the benches on the beaches, and would eat leftover from restaurant or dustbin. Every night before going to sleep he would visualize his success. One of these nights he wrote himself a check for $10,000,000 and put on the date of Thanksgiving 1995.

He gave audition for the Movie called Dumb and Dumber and nailed it.
He was paid $7 million for the movie.

In the year 1993 her husband divorced her, even when their daughter was just few months old. She was in London with a 6 month old girl with no source of income.

The first book of Harry Potter series The Philosopher’s Stone was written during this period.

She was so poor she couldn’t afford a computer or even the cost of photocopying the 90,000-word novel, so she manually typed out each version to send to publishers. Her novel was rejected by 12 publishers. finally Bloomsbury, a small London publisher, gave it a second chance after the CEO’s eight year-old daughter fell in love with it.

Oprah Winfrey.

Born to an unwed teenage mother, Oprah Winfrey spent her first years on her grandmother’s farm.  Life on the farm was primitive, but her grandmother taught her to read at an early age, and at age three Oprah was reciting poems and Bible verses in local churches.

She was so poor that some of her neighbors of that time says she used to wear dresses made of potato sack.

At the age of 9, she was raped. She was raped by her cousin, her uncle and a family friend. Having had enough, she ran away from her home at the age of 13 and became mother at 14, but her son died in few days due to lack of medical facilities. After this she returned back to her father. This was time when she started taking education seriously and soon she became an honored student.

At the age of 19, her life took a turn for better when she got a job at a local Radio Station as a co-anchor for the local evening news. In 1984, she started to host ‘AM Chicago’, an early morning talk show, which soon became the most watched show in America. Later, it was renamed as ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’. The syndicated talk show became the most popular show in the Television history with over 30 million American viewers and spanned across 144 countries worldwide.

According to Forbes of 2009, her net worth is $2.7 billion dollar, and she the richest African American in USA.

I came across some famous Indians who struggled real hard in their lives.

Smriti Zubin Irani

Smriti Irani who holds HRD Ministry in present Indian Government was born in Delhi. She did her schooling from Delhi. She dropped out of the school when she was in 12th .

For next next 6 years she worked as waitress in Mcdonalds in Mumbai. She mentioned is one of her interview that she wasn’t even sure that on a particular day she will be going to bed with dinner or with just “water“.

In the mean while she kept on trying modelling assignments. She competed in Miss India 1998 and was one of the finalist.
She got her first role on TV with the serial named  Hum Hain Kal Aaj Aur Kal. Soon she bagged a role which changed her life. Kyunki Saas bhi kabhi bahu thi made her a national face.

She joined BJP in 2003, since then this lady has never looked back.
She was defamed publicly by Congress MPs, She was rediculed about how 12th pass will control the whole education system of India ? Still this woman held strong.  Irani has been actively involved in social sector development programs. Her NGO deals with providing water solutions to villages.She has actively fought for equal rights of women in Indian society.

Nawazuddin Siddique

Nawazuddin was born in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh to a farmer family. He did is basic schooling from Muzzafarnagar, UP and Bachelors from Haridwar.

After graduation he worked as a chemist in a petrochemical company for a short while. But boredom set in soon, and he moved to Delhi, where he worked as a watchman. He worked as watchman for 1 full year. Then he joined a theatre group and started watching plays, while working as a watchman at an office.

He graduated from the The National School of Drama, New Delhi in 1996 for his theatre academics. Soon he moved to Mumbai only to make his life more worse. He didn’t had place to live in Mumbai, so he was forced to sleep on Railway benches. This continued for couple of years. A senior from his drama school offered him a place in his flat only because Siddique promised he will cook for him daily.

But destiny had something else for him. In 2004 he was noticed by Anurag Kashyap. He offered a role in his movie “Black Friday”.
Gradually he started getting attention and soon he bagged some roles. His role in Peepli Live established him as an actor. Then came GOW and many more.

Renowned Film critic Roger Ebert gave him a standing ovation when he came to stage to collect Lions Gold Award, which he was awarded for GOW.
