SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Uber Real Estate has announced the launch of Uber Real Estate services. Uber Real Estate is disrupting the

What are some sectors that will completely die out by 2030?

1. Licensed taxis :  The taxi /urban transportation through licensed vehicles model, in its current form, is at the end of its life. Across the world, peer to peer services like Uber and ride sharing platforms are disrupting urban transportation at a hectic pace. My prediction is that 10-15 years from now, all city corporations will officially dismantle licensed taxi unions and let the public transportation be managed by the public. We’ll all be wondering how this system even survived for so long.

2. Diagnostic centers : With the advent of wearable tech becoming more advanced, the now ubiquitous diagnostic center, will be nearly extinct. Wearable technology is heavily influenced by Moore’s law, and the smart device of the future will be able to diagnose many of the essential health checks on a 24/7 basis, which today require a visit to a clinic. All medical diagnostic companies will have to pivot and become technology companies, and give up massive amounts of capital invested in commercial real estate and medical equipment. The diagnostic center as we know it today will be dead.

3. Logistics companies : With e-commerce booming over the past few years, we’ve seen the massive rise of logistics companies that provide last mile delivery to customers. This space is about to get radically transformed and eventually fully automated with the introduction of drones for delivery. We will see smarter drones, powered by AI driven algorithms from e-commerce sites, delivering everything a customer orders, in a fraction of the time and cost of what it takes today. I’d pull out my money from Fed-Ex and DHL today !
